# Privacy policy

Sidwan Coffee ("Sidwan", "we", "us") operates this website and its coffee launch waitlist. This policy explains how personal information is handled when you browse the site, join the waitlist, contact us, play Coffee Run, or use the optional music player.

## Information we collect

- **Waitlist:** your email address and subscription status when you sign up for launch news and coffee updates. Shopify stores these details for us. Our current waitlist does not request a phone number or enroll you in text messages.

- **Contact form:** your email address, your name if you provide it, and the contents of your message. Please do not include payment details or other sensitive information.

- **Website use:** technical and usage information, such as your IP address, browser, device, pages visited, referring page, and cookies or similar identifiers. Shopify and the providers that host, deliver, measure, and protect the site process this information.

Joining the waitlist is not a purchase. The waitlist and contact forms do not request payment information or a shipping address.

## How we use information

We use information to manage the waitlist and your subscription preferences, send the launch news and coffee updates you signed up for, respond to messages and privacy requests, operate and improve the website, prevent spam and abuse, and meet legal obligations. Sending a contact message alone does not subscribe you to marketing emails.

## Cookies, security checks, and local storage

Shopify uses cookies and similar technologies to operate the website, remember preferences, and understand site use. Our forms use Shopify's spam protection, which can include hCaptcha. These checks process technical and interaction information to distinguish people from automated submissions. Coffee Run saves your personal best in your browser's local storage. The game does not ask for a nickname or submit your score to a public leaderboard. Clearing this site's browser data removes your saved best. We also use browser session storage to support the site's interface and signup flow.

You can manage cookies through your browser and any privacy controls shown on the site. Blocking essential storage or security tools may prevent forms or other features from working.

## Optional Spotify player

The Spotify player loads when you open the music panel. At that point, your browser connects to Spotify, which may receive your IP address, device and browser information, and information about your use of the player, and may use cookies. If you are signed in to Spotify, Spotify may associate that activity with your account. Collapsing the music panel keeps the player loaded so music can continue while you browse. Use "Stop music" to unload it. You do not need to open the player to browse the site or join the waitlist.

## Who receives information

We use Shopify to host the site and manage waitlist information. Service providers that support website hosting, media delivery, email, security, analytics, and customer communications may process information needed to provide those services. Information you send through the contact form is delivered through Shopify to our store's contact inbox.

Shopify also processes information under its own [Consumer Privacy Policy](https://www.shopify.com/legal/privacy/app-users). Depending on the Shopify features in use and applicable privacy choices, this can include improving its services and personalized advertising across merchants and other services. You can learn about Shopify's processing and submit requests through the [Shopify Privacy Portal](https://privacy.shopify.com/en).

We may also disclose information where required by law, to respond to valid legal requests, to protect rights and security, or as part of a business transfer subject to applicable privacy requirements.

## Your choices and privacy rights

- **Email updates:** you can unsubscribe using the link in our marketing emails or ask us to remove you through the [Contact Us form](/pages/contact). You may still receive a response to a message or privacy request you send us.

- **Privacy choices:** use [Your privacy choices](/pages/data-sharing-opt-out) for Shopify's available opt-out controls. Certain uses of device or browsing information for targeted advertising can be considered a "sale" or "sharing" under some privacy laws. Availability of these controls and recognition of Global Privacy Control signals depend on applicable law and Shopify's implementation.

- **Information requests:** depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your information; withdraw consent; object to or restrict processing; or opt out of certain sharing or targeted advertising.

To make a request, use the [Contact Us form](/pages/contact) and tell us it is a privacy request. We may need to verify your identity or an authorized agent's authority before responding. We will respond as required by applicable law and will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. Where applicable, you may appeal a decision through the same form or complain to your local privacy regulator.

## Retention and security

We retain information for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described here, including managing subscriptions, answering inquiries, resolving disputes, and meeting legal obligations. After an unsubscribe or deletion request, we may retain limited records needed to respect your opt-out or comply with law. No website or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure.

## International processing

Shopify and other service providers may process information in countries other than where you live, including the United States and Canada. Where applicable law requires safeguards for an international transfer, those safeguards must apply. Shopify explains its international processing and safeguards in its privacy policy.

## Children

This website and waitlist are not directed to children under 16. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us so we can review and address it.

## Updates and contact

We will update this policy when our practices change, including when we introduce shopping or additional services, and revise the date above. We will provide additional notice where required by law.
